Five years of HOLY: an event world in pink, violet and pastel for a two-day anniversary in Berlin

We had the pleasure of designing the balloon installations for HOLY's fifth company anniversary in Berlin. Sculptural balloon columns in pink, violet and pastel, a central stage design around the HOLY logo and an event world that matches the brand's energy. Realised in close collaboration with Phoenix Berlin.

Five years is a long time in the start-up world. In that time, HOLY has turned an idea three friends had in a Berlin flat share into a brand that is one of the defining voices in the young, community-driven drinks scene.
For its company anniversary, HOLY combined two occasions in one two-day event in Berlin: one day for its closest influencer community, one day for fans and customers. We designed the balloon installations and shaped the visual identity of the event world.
From flat-share project to Berlin brand
HOLY is the Berlin start-up that shook up the German drinks market with powder-based energy drinks. What began five years ago as an idea in a Berlin flat share is today one of the best-known brands in its segment, with an active community, a clear look and a tone all of its own.
A brand with this kind of energy does not need a classic format for its anniversary. It needs a visual presence that does justice to its tone: young, bold and unmistakable.
Two days, two audiences, one consistent concept
The brief was demanding. On day one, influencers from the HOLY community came; on day two, fans and customers who wanted to be there in person. Both days were to work visually as one coherent experience while reflecting the character of their audience.
We designed the event space so that it felt like a HOLY world of its own. No isolated decoration, but a consistent visual language in which every corner has a purpose and nothing stands where it stands by chance.
A colour palette straight from the brand
The choice of colours came from the product. Pink, violet and pastel shades pick up HOLY's range of flavours directly and translate the brand's energy into a visual language that works in the space.
Instead of classic event decoration, we opted for organic balloon columns that stand like sculptural accents in the room. They loosen up the space, create small islands and ensure that the atmosphere builds up at several points instead of concentrating on a single hotspot.
Phoenix Berlin as partner for the event architecture
An event of this scale is never created alone. For the HOLY anniversary we worked closely with Phoenix Berlin, who were responsible for the event architecture, the LED walls and the spectacular disco ball.
Our part was the balloon installations. The strength of the event lay in the composition. Light, architecture and balloon decoration interlocked so that no component stood on its own, but each one enhanced the others. It is exactly this kind of collaboration between specialised trades that turns an event into a complete experience. We look forward to further projects with Phoenix Berlin.
The stage as the central brand moment
At the heart of the event was the launch of the new HOLY Syrup line, a product innovation that adds a liquid format to the existing powder range. A product launch like this needs a stage that celebrates the product without outshining it.
The central stage design showcased the HOLY logo prominently, framed by the event architecture and complemented by our balloon installations at the edge of the stage. The balloons frame the logo without covering it and make the stage the natural centre of the room. For influencer content, photo opportunities and brand staging, this was the central spot. And at the same time the visual anchor guests were meant to remember when leaving the event.
Balloon columns as social meeting points
An event space of this size needs more than good looks. It needs well-thought-out visual choreography. Our balloon columns were distributed across the space so that groups could form around them quite naturally without blocking the flow of the event.
Each column thus became a social meeting point, a photo opportunity and a brand carrier at the same time. It is exactly this multiple function that makes the difference between decoration and event design.
Premium material that every influencer captures
At an event with high social media visibility, material quality is not a background detail. Every balloon ends up in a photo, a story or a reel.
We work exclusively with Sempertex balloons made of natural rubber latex. Sempertex is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, and the balloons are tested to EN 71. In an organic column like ours, different sizes and shades are used, from pastel tones to strong statement colours. Each balloon is placed individually, each position follows a logic, and yet in the end the whole looks as if it had grown that way. That is the difference between installation and staging.
What looks effortless is preparation
What appears effortless over two full event days is the result of hours of focused installation work. Every one of our events starts with a plan; every square metre is thought through in advance, every balloon position defined beforehand.
The installation phase took place before the event began, so that HOLY could welcome its guests on time into a fully staged world. It is precisely this preparation that makes the difference between a decoration and a staging that stays in people's minds.
Why projects like this move us forward
HOLY is exactly the kind of client we love to work with. A young brand with a clear visual language, a genuine occasion and the courage to dare its own look. Plus a partner like Phoenix Berlin, with whom the collaboration ran smoothly and on equal terms.
Projects like this show what is possible when brand, architecture and staging work together instead of existing side by side. And they are one reason why we so enjoy working with Berlin brands.
